Bette George

Bette George is a leadership coach, organization development consultant, trainer and author. She partners with individual clients and organizations to strengthen leadership skills, develop strategies for working with diversity, build effective teams, and to create respectful and inclusive work environments. Bette's clients are from Fortune 500 and small organizations, both public and private; profit and non-profit. Her clients are also entrepreneurs, business owners and individuals in the midst of life and career transitions.
A highly skilled consultant, facilitator and interviewer experienced in all phases of the organization development process, Bette conducts studies to identify organizational barriers to the equitable treatment of all employees, and consults with leaders to develop and implement a long-term diversity strategy.
Bette has developed a pragmatic, outcome-based approach to coaching that builds on the natural strengths of the leaders with whom she works. Partnering with her clients, she encourages strategic thinking and supports the creation of a vision and plan for the future based on personal and organizational goals. The customized coaching alliance helps leaders more effectively meet current business challenges and create desired outcomes in the future.
Bette received her Masters of Science degree in Human Resource Development from The American University/NTL Institute and is a graduate of the School of Education, University of Virginia. She is a graduate of the Georgetown University Leadership Coaching Certificate Program and has been designated an Associate Certified Coach by the International Coaching Federation.
Bette is co-author of two books: A Practical Guide to Working with Diversity and Honoring Boundaries: Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace. She also co-authored a train-the-trainer program, Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace: A Workshop.
Bette lives outside of Washington, D.C. where she enjoys her family, friends and twelve beautiful grandchildren. She is an avid reader, and with her husband, Vern, enjoys the theater, travel, and collecting art.
